Diana, Prinzessin von Wales - Mode-Ikone

Prinzessin Diana galt als Mode-Ikone. Der jungen Lady Diana Spencer soll die Designer-Modewelt zuerst fremd gewesen sein. Nur ein Kleid, eine Bluse und ein paar gute Schuhe habe sie besessen, und sich den Rest von Freunden ausgeborgt. Erst langsam habe sich die damals 20-jährige Diana nach der Hochzeit mit Prinz Charles 1981 in ihre neue Rolle eingefunden. Eines ihrer berühmtesten Kleider ist das dunkelblaue Samtkleid von Victor Edelstein, in dem Diana bei einem Staatsbankett im Weißen Haus 1985 mit John Travolta tanzte. Das «Travolta-Kleid» trug sie auch zwei Jahre später bei einem Besuch offiziellen mit Prinz Charles in der damaligen Bundesrepublik.
