German Formula 1 racing driver Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips (born May 4, 1928) died in an accident with his Ferrari at the Italian Grand Prix on September 10, 1961. Fifteen spectators also lost their lives in the disaster at Monza, and 60 others were injured, some seriously. Count Berghe von Trips competed in Formula 1 from 1957 to 1961 and was posthumously crowned runner-up after his accidental death.
