On January 20, 2017, Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, with Vice President Mike Pence also taking the oath of office shortly before. In the morning, Trump and his wife Melania attended a church service at St. John's Church. Afterwards, both were received at the White House by outgoing President Obama and his wife Michelle.
