50 years ago - Arthur Ashe Wins Wimbledon
Arthur Ashe made tennis history when he won Wimbledon on 5 July 1975, becoming the first African American player to win the prestigious tournament in men's singles. Ashe triumphed in the final against Jimmy Connors, winning with scores of 6-1, 6-1, 5-7, 6-4.
