On October 4, 1957, the Soviet Union launched the first earth satellite "Sputnik". The spherical satellite had a diameter of 58 cm and weighed 83.6 kilograms. It orbited the earth 1400 times in 92 days at 29,000 kilometers per hour at altitudes between 600 and 900 kilometers, attracting great attention from the world public.On November 3, 1957, the first biosatellite followed with Sputnik 2, in which the Huendin Laika was the first living creature to orbit the Earth.
