Actor Fred Ward died at the age of 79

US actor Fred Ward, known from numerous films with a wide range, is dead. He died already on May 8, confirmed his spokesman Ron Hofmann on Instagram. Ward was 79 years old. He had won a special acting award at the Golden Globes in 1994 as a member of the ensemble of Robert Altman's "Short Cuts" and previously also received good reviews as author Henry Miller in "Henry & June" in 1990. He achieved another major success the same year alongside Kevin Bacon in the cult film "Tremors - In the Land of Rocket Worms".
