Alicia Keys, born on January 25, 1981, in New York City, is a multi-award-winning American singer, songwriter, and pianist who rose to international fame with her debut album Songs in A Minor (2001). She has won 15 Grammy Awards and has had a significant influence on modern R&B with hits such as Fallin', If I Ain't Got You, and Empire State of Mind. Away from the stage, she is committed to social justice, body acceptance, and HIV/AIDS support, and is a public advocate for authenticity and self-determination.
