born 01. October 1935 in Walton-on-Thames. The British actress, singer and writer Julie Andrews won an Oscar in 1965 for the title role in the film musical "Mary Poppins". She was married in second marriage to the director Blake Edwards, who died in 2010. In 1999, Julie Andrews was raised to the rank of Dame Commander of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II.
