Bachmann, Ingeborg (25.06.1926 - 17.10.1973)
Ingeborg Bachmann (June 25, 1926 – October 17, 1973) was an Austrian writer and poet who is considered one of the most important authors of German-language literature in the 20th century. Her work includes poetry, short stories and essays and deals with social criticism, existential questions, and the role of women in post-war society. Since 1977, the prestigious Ingeborg Bachmann Prize has been awarded annually in her memory.
