US President Donald Trump has threatened the countries of the BRICS alliance with 100 percent tariffs if they turn away from the US dollar as an international means of payment. They will be required to promise that they will neither create a new BRICS currency nor support another currency to replace the powerful US dollar, Trump wrote on his online platform Truth Social. Otherwise they will face 100 percent tariffs. These countries can then look for another country to rip off.
