Carl XVI. Gustaf, King of Sweden (geb. 30.04.1946)

Carl XVI Gustaf, born 30. April 1946, King of Sweden. Carl Gustaf, whose father died in an accident in 1947, succeeded his grandfather on the throne as King Carl XVI Gustaf in 1973. With the constitutional reform of 1975, however, almost all of the king's political duties were abolished. He has been married to the German Silvia Sommerlath since 1979. The couple has three children: Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine.
