Churchill, Winston (30.11.1874 - 24.01.1965)
Cigar and Victory sign: These were the trademarks of British politician Sir Winston Churchill, one of the most important statesmen of the 20th century. As Prime Minister (1940 to 1945), Churchill led his country through the Second World War. He was also very successful as a writer and was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953 for his historical works. Churchill was born on November 30, 1874 and died on January 24, 1965 at the age of 90 as a result of a stroke.
