The Bikini-Killer: Charles Sobhraj
Charles Sobhraj was active in Asia in the 1970s as a thief, criminal, and serial killer. He particularly targeted Western tourists traveling along the “Hippie Trail.” Because of his sneakiness, he was also called “The Snake,” and the media gave him the nickname “The Bikini Killer” because his victims were wearing bikinis when their bodies were found. He spent more than two decades in a prison in India for the dozen murders he committed. After his release, he moved back to France, but was arrested again in Nepal in 2003 and imprisoned for life for the murders he committed. In 2022, he was discharged from prison.
