German "Lady Di Club" plans Diana statue
Evelyn Marie Seidel (72), founder of what she claims is the only German "Lady Di Club," wants to commemorate the British princess with a large statue in time for the 25th anniversary of her death. But where? The head of the club regrets that she has received refusals from her hometown of Hamelin in Lower Saxony and from several neighboring castle owners. Driven by his love of his homeland, he wanted to create a mini-Britain here after Brexit, Blackburn explains. For the "Queen of Hearts," he said, he always had a big heart: "Our daughter Alyson was given the middle name Diana in memory of her." For the statue he has reserved a place called "Secret Garden" at his hotel. It is expected to arrive in June - August 31 marks the 25th anniversary of Diana's accidental death in a Paris car tunnel.
