The Peanuts - Comic series
In October 1950, the first comic strip in the "Peanuts" series by Charles M. Schulz (1922-2000) appeared in the U.S. daily newspapers. The stories about Charlie Brown, Snoopy and many other characters such as Linus, Lucy or Schroeder were translated into 21 languages and found more than 350 million readers. Until his death on February 12, 2000, Schulz drew almost 18,000 episodes, the last of which appeared in the Sunday newspapers on February 13, 2000. The comics are the basis of numerous cartoons on television and in the cinema, and Peanut fans can find countless products, from mugs to T-shirts, with images of Snoopy & Co.
