«Nomadland» wins three Oscars
The road movie “Nomadland” won this year with three Oscars in the main categories: The work was named best film, the Chinese filmmaker Chloé Zhao received the directing trophy and Frances McDormand the award for the best female leading role. “Nomadland” tells of a woman (played by McDormand) who, due to economic hardship, loads her belongings into a car and travels through the USA as a nomad. For the actress it is already the third Oscar of her career. With Zhao, a woman was honored with an Oscar for directing for only the second time in the 93-year history of the Oscar.
