In the elections held on September 20, 2026, preliminary results show the Left Party in Berlin with a clear lead, followed by the CDU and the AfD. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the AfD is narrowly ahead of the SPD, while the CDU fails to win any seats in the state parliament for the first time.
