England in the European Championship final for the first time after beating Denmark 2-1
England won the semi-finals of the European Football Championship against Denmark and will play the final against Italy on Sunday. The team of coach Gareth Southgate prevailed on Wednesday evening in front of 64,950 spectators at London's Wembley Stadium with 2: 1 (1: 1, 1: 1) after extra time against the EM surprise team. For Denmark, Mikkel Damsgaard first scored (30th minute) with a free kick. An own goal by captain Simon Kjaer (39th) equalized. For the Three Lions, captain Harry Kane scored the winning goal by converting a penalty kick in the margin (104th).
