Football World Cup 1954

The fifth edition of the 1954 World Cup was held in Switzerland and fascinated with high-scoring games. But the highlight was Germany's surprise final victory against the star ensemble from Hungary, which was actually overpowering at the time. The 3:2 of the DFB-Elf in the rain in Bern became a myth. The “Spirit of Spiez” and “The Miracle of Bern” are firmly anchored in the nation's collective football memory, as is Herbert Zimmermann's legendary radio report.
