Garfunkel, Art (geb. 05.11.1941)

The U.S. singer and actor Arthur Ira "Art" Garfunkel, born on 05.11. 1941 in Forest Hills, New York City, celebrated together with Paul Simon as the duo Simon & Garfunkel great international success ("Sounds of silence", Mrs. Robinson"). The duo separated in 1970, then gave a legendary concert together again in Central Park in New York in 1981 and went on tour together once again after receiving a Grammy award for their life's work. Art Garfunkel in the meantime pursued his acting career and released several solo albums. For his diverse political and social commitment, he was awarded, among others, the honorary prize of the German Sustainability Award.
