Face wanted for humanoid robot
A Russian technology company has begun mass producing human-like robots that can be given any appearance on order. The robots can mimic human facial expressions by moving their eyes, eyebrows, mouths and other muscles. They can also answer questions and serve as "companions", the company said. Promobot, the company behind "Android Robo-C", claims that its human-like robot, which has a specially designed artificial skin, has over 600 facial expressions. The company is currently looking for a face for its humanoid robot assistant, which will be used in hotels, shopping malls and other busy places. Promobot is looking for a nice and friendly face - of any gender or race over the age of 25 - to be reproduced on potentially thousands of versions of the robots worldwide. The company is prepared to pay £150,000 ($200,000) to anyone willing to transfer the rights to their face and voice in perpetuity. Please note the minimum fee of 15 euros.
