Fritz Fischer becomes the "Goldene Sportpyramide" 2025
This year's "Golden Sports Pyramid" award goes to biathlon legend Fritz Fischer. The Olympic champion, world champion, and long-time successful coach receives the prestigious award from the German Sports Aid Foundation for his outstanding sporting achievements, his contributions as a coach, and his social commitment. Olympic champion, world champion, successful coach, and cult figure – Fritz Fischer is one of the most influential personalities in German biathlon. From 1980 to 1993, Fischer was a member of the German national biathlon team and celebrated numerous successes. Highlights included the gold medal with the relay team at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, silver in 1988 in Calgary, and bronze in 1984 in Sarajevo.
