Hall of Fame of German Sports: Kathrin Boron
With a total of 18 medals at the Olympic Games and World Championships, Kathrin Boron is the most successful German rower and thus one of the most influential sporting figures of the post-reunification era. The exceptional athlete, standing at 1.84 meters tall, won gold at each of four Olympic Games between 1992 and 2004, as well as a bronze medal in Beijing in 2008. In addition, she has eight World Championship titles, five World Championship silver medals, and six overall World Cup victories – achievements that earned her the reputation of a "monument in rowing," as described by the "Tagesspiegel" in 2004.
