Margriet, Princess of the Netherlands (geb. 19.01.1943)
Princess Margriet of the Netherlands was born in Ottawa on January 19, 1943. She is the third daughter of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard zur Lippe-Biesterfeld and younger sister of Princess Beatrix, who was Queen of the Netherlands from 1980 to 2013. Princess Margriet has been married to Pieter van Vollenhoven since 1965. The couple has four sons and eleven grandchildren. As a member of the Royal Family, Princess Margriet performs numerous official duties and is involved in various social and cultural activities. Among other things, she was vice president of the Dutch Red Cross from 1987 to 2011.
