Massacre at Munich Olympic Games (1972)
On 5 September 1972, during the Summer Olympics in Munich, members of the Palestinian terror organisation Schwarzer September, which was supported by German Neo-Nazis in the run-up to the Games, took members of the Israeli team hostage. During an attempt to free them in the night of September 6th at the airport Fürstenfeldbruck, a fiasco occurred. A total of eleven Israeli hostages, five hostage-takers and one policeman were killed.
