US actress Melanie Griffith, born 9 August 1957 in New York, turns 65. Griffith was one of Hollywood's biggest stars in the late 80s and early 90s. She appeared in front of the camera for the first time at the age of 12. She landed her first major role in the film "The Hot Trace" and in 1989 won a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for her leading role in the film "Women's Guns". After that, unfortunately, recognition for her acting work largely failed to materialise. The actress was married three times from 1981 to 1989 to actor Steven Bauer, from 1989 to 1996 she had a marriage with Don Johnson and in 1996 she married fellow actor Antonio Banderas. The couple divorced in 2015. The most famous of her three children is Dakota Johnson, who followed in her parents' footsteps and is also an actress.
