Moreno, Rita (geb. 11.12.1931)
The US actress and singer Rita Moreno was born Rosita Dolores Alverio in Puerto Rico on 11 December 1931. Her best-known role was as Anita in the 1961 musical film West Side Story, for which she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. She will also be seen in a supporting role in the remake in 2021. In a career spanning more than 70 years, she has been successful in Hollywood as well as on Broadway and is one of the few stars to have won all of the most important prizes in the American entertainment industry - the Oscar, the Grammy, the Emmy, the Tony Award and the Golden Globe.
