Nepal: Teej Festival in Kathmandu
Nepalese Hindu women pay homage to Lord Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction, at the Pashupatinath temple during the Teej festival in the Nepalese capital Kathmandu on 30 August 2022. The Teej festival is celebrated by Hindu women in Nepal and in some parts in India and Bangladesh. Married women fast during the day and pray for a long life for their husbands, while unmarried women wish for beautiful husbands and a happy married life.
