Ok­to­ber­fest: Fatal accident

An employee of a fairground ride has died in a fatal accident at the Munich Oktoberfest. The man sustained life-threatening injuries in the accident at a free-fall tower and later died in hospital. The police are investigating the cause. According to the police, passengers were not in any danger. The 191st Oktoberfest runs until 4 October and, with more than six million visitors each year, is considered the world’s largest folk festival.
