Oscar-winning director Sebastián Lelio dies at 52
Chilean director Sebastián Lelio has died at the age of 52 in his homeland of Chile. He won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film in 2018 for A Fantastic Woman (Una mujer fantástica), Chile's only win in that category so far. He also enjoyed success at the Berlinale with Gloria, and he lived in Berlin for several years. Local media reported that he was found unresponsive at his home in Las Condes, near Santiago de Chile. His partner, German-Chilean actress Amalia Kassai, cited "health reasons" as the cause of death.
