Pope Francis in wheelchair
To protect his knee, the pontiff has been using a wheelchair since May 2022. The 85-year-old himself had recently reported that doctors had told him to put as little strain as possible on the joint because of the pain in his right knee. Recently, Francis was already limping badly during his public appearances and had to cancel events again and again.
