American film and theatre actor John Peter Sarsgaard was born on 7 March 1971 at Scott Air Force Base (Illinois). He has been married to Maggie Gyllenhaal (sister of Jake Gyllenhaal) since 2009, who is also an actress, and they have two children together. His best-known films include "The Man in the Iron Mask" (1998), "Boys Don't Cry" (1999) and "The Center of the World" (2001).
