Princess Diana's last year of life

n the 12 months before her death, Princess Diana attended the Costume Ball at the Metropolitan Museum in New York, posed for a group photo with the Royal Family at her son Prince William's confirmation, holidayed with her sons in St Tropez, visited landmine victims in Bosnia and Angola, attended Gianni Versace's funeral in Milan, met Nelson Mandela in Cape Town, Mother Teresa in New York and First Lady Hillary Clinton at the White House. On 31 August 1997, she died in a car accident in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris. Her companion Dodi al-Fayed also lost his life.
