Police blunder sparks racism debate: The background to this is the conviction of a 23-year-old man from the Sikh community for murder in Southampton. In December 2025, he fatally stabbed an 18-year-old student and subsequently claimed to the police that he had been the victim of a racially motivated attack. Bodycam footage shows officers handcuffing the seriously injured victim, even though he repeatedly states that he has been stabbed and cannot breathe. The young man died at the scene.
