Riefenstahl, Leni (22. 08.1902 – 08.09.2003)
The German director and photographer Leni Riefenstahl (Aug. 22, 1902 - Sept. 8, 2003) began her career in the 1920s as a dancer and years as a dancer and actress in adventure and mountain films. In 1931 she founded her own production company. Riefenstahl is considered one of the controversial figures in film history, praised as an innovative filmmaker and criticized filmmaker and criticized for her propaganda films during the period of National Socialism, including the three films on the Reich Party Congress of the NSDAP ("The Victory of Faith," "Triumph of the Will," and "Freedom Day! - Our Wehrmacht") and the two-part documentary about the Summer Olympics 1936 in Berlin. After the Second World War, Riefenstahl produced natural history and ethnological documentary films and was successful as a photographer.
