Russia February Revolution 1917
As a result of World War I, the supply situation of the Russian population had deteriorated to such an extent that hunger revolts, strikes and looting were part of the daily routine. In February 1917, the situation came to a head and tsarist soldiers joined the demonstrators. The February Revolution (March by Gregorian calendar) led to the abdication of the tsar, Nicholas II, on March 15 and the establishment of a Provisional Government under Alexander Kersenki, but it was overthrown by the Bolsheviks in the October Revolution.
