Saura, Carlos
Carlos Saura, born 04.01.1932, is a Spanish film director, screenwriter and dance photographer. He worked with Geraldine Chaplin in many of his films, from "Peppermint Frappé" (1967), to "Breed Ravens" (1975) and "Mama Turns 100" (1979). Saura became internationally known with his dance films, in which he dealt with flamenco, tango and fado, among other things. The film "Carmen" (1983) won the BAFTA Award in the category Best Foreign Language Film. Saura showed his dance photographs and artistic works in exhibitions such as "Flamenco" (2020) or "Carlos Saura and Dance" (2021).
