Serena Williams announces retirement from tennis
Long-standing world number one Serena Williams has announced her early retirement from professional tennis. The 40-year-old American wrote on Instagram on Tuesday that the time had come in life to choose a different direction. «My God, how much I love tennis. But now the countdown has started, »explained the winner of 23 Grand Slam titles. "I will enjoy these coming weeks." Serena Williams also spoke in detail in the magazine "Vogue". She is currently participating in the tournament in Toronto. In just under three weeks, the US Open will begin in New York, which is expected to be their last tournament.
