born on March 25, 1921 in Wiesbaden, died on September 30, 1985 in Auteuil-Autheuillet. The French character actress Simone Signoret was honored, among others, with the Oscar in 1959 for "The Way Up" and with the César in 1978 for "Madame Rosa". She was married to Yves Montand in second marriage from 1951.
