Sonja, Queen of Norway
Queen Sonja was born Sonja Haraldsen in Oslo on 4 July 1937. In 1968 she married the then Crown Prince Harald of Norway. When Harald succeeded his late father on the throne on 17 January 1991, Sonja became Queen. She is active in various humanitarian organisations and is an art collector and artist. Sonja and Harald have two children, Princess Märtha Louise and Crown Prince Haakon. Both now have their own families, making Queen Sonja a grandmother of five.
