Strong Earth­quake in Indonesia

An earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale struck the eastern part of the Southeast Asian island nation. Numerous aftershocks, some of them significant, followed. Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur regularly in the world’s most geologically active zone, known as the Pacific Ring of Fire.
