SZ Photo - Air defense and the population during the bombing war
Numerous measures are taken to protect the German civilian population from Allied air raids, such as the construction of air raid shelters, the digging of splinter trenches, darkening of buildings and demonstrations of fire fighting by the Reich Air Protection Association. While bombs destroy houses and property, the population holds out in air raid shelters. - This selection contains pictures from our partner agency Süddeutsche Zeitung Photo.
