SZ Photo - Legion Condor in Spanien

Die Legion Condor war eine Einheit der deutschen Luftwaffe, die während des Spanischen Bürgerkriegs (1936–1939) General Franco und die Nationalisten unterstützte. Sie führte vor allem Luftangriffe durch, darunter die Zerstörung der Stadt Guernica 1937, die zum Symbol für die Grausamkeit moderner Kriegsführung wurde. Die Legion diente auch als Testfeld für neue Waffentechnologien und Taktiken, die später im Zweiten Weltkrieg eingesetzt wurden.
