After the failure of the Grand Coalition with Chancellor Hermann Müller (SPD), the era of presidential cabinets began. The Chancellors Heinrich Brüning (Center Party), Franz von Papen (independent) and Kurt von Schleicher (independent) ruled with the help of President Paul von Hindenburg without parliament and effectively ended parliamentary democracy in Germany. - This selection contains pictures from our partner agency Süddeutsche Zeitung Photo.
