SZ Photo - Separatism in the Rhineland 1923-24
During the Allied occupation of the Rhineland a separatist movement proclaimed in 1923 an independent state called the Rheinische Republik (Rhenish Republic). This republic lasted just for one year, in 1924 it had to be dissolved due to strong resistance by the population and the french military government. - This selection contains pictures from our partner agency Süddeutsche Zeitung Photo.
