SZ Photo - Wandervogel and other youth organizations, 1919-1932
From the end of the 19th century, the Wandervogel movement developed into more and more independent youth groups in the interwar period. Partly politically neutral, partly firmly integrated into the structure of the various parties, millions of children, adolescents and young adults were firmly integrated into one of the groups. Even though women had equal rights for the first time in the Weimar Republic, the youth movements were still strongly influenced by male participants. With the end of the Weimar Republic, the organizations also ended and were incorporated into the Hitler Youth. - This selection contains pictures from our partner agency Süddeutsche Zeitung Photo.
