Thatcher, Margaret (13.10.1925 – 08.04.2013)
Margaret Thatcher (13.10.1925 - 08.04.2013), born Margaret Hilda Roberts, was a British politician and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to November 1990. She gained her reputation as the "Iron Lady" primarily through her victory in the Falklands War in 1982, but also through drastic domestic policies in the labour market and financial sector. In foreign policy, she aligned Great Britain closely with the USA. Her strained relationship with German Chancellor Helmut Kohl was well known, and she was rather sceptical about the accompanying European unification process.
