Twiggy (Lexley Lawson), born 19. September 1949, British supermodel . - Under her nickname Twiggy ("little twig"), Lesley Lawson became the style icon of the Swinging Sixties. With spindly arms and legs, a blonde bob, big eyes and false eyelashes, she became a star of the fashion industry at the age of 16. In 1970 - only four years after her discovery - she reoriented herself, because acting and the music business appealed to her more than the catwalk. ü¸r her role in the film "Boyfriend" she received two Golden Globes in 1972. From 1983 she was on stage on Broadway for almost two years with the play "My One and Only". She has released several albums, written books and works as a designer. In 2019, she received the title "Dame of the British Empire" for her services to fashion, art and charity. Twiggy has a daughter from her first marriage. She has been married to actor Leigh Lawson since 1988.
