Unesco-Weltkulturerbe: Deutschland Deine Dome
Gleich fünf Dome, alle Meisterwerke der mittelalterlichen Baukunst, stehen in der Liste der Unesco als Welterbestätten: Der Aachener Dom, die Pfalzkapelle Karls des Groflen der Kölner Dom als ein Meisterwerk gotischer Architektur der Speyerer Dom, als das Hauptwerk romanischer Baukunst in Deutschland der Hildesheimer Dom St. Mariä Himmelfahrt (Mariendom) mit seinem 1000jährigen Rosenstock, dem beeindruckenden Domschatz und bedeutenden Objekten, wie die Christussäule und dem Heziloleuchter und der Naumburger Dom "St. Peter und Paul" aus dem Hochmittelalter, der ein Beispiel für die Baukunst der späten Romanik und der frühen Gotik ist. Seine berühmten Stifterfiguren gelten als Inbegriff frühgotischer Steinmetzkunst.
