US actor Ned Beatty is dead
US character actor Ned Beatty, known for supporting roles in films such as "Superman" and "Network", is dead. He died on Sunday at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 83. Beatty started his film career in 1972 with a role in "Deliverance". A supporting role as a board member in the 1976 film satire "Network" earned Beatty his only Oscar nomination. He starred in some of the most important blockbusters of his era and appeared in more than 150 films and TV productions.
